A guide to understanding Figma, a multipurpose design and collaboration tool

Administration

The MAC-ES team manages Figma licenses, user roles, and permissions. Contact the MAC-ES team through our intake form for help with Figma issues or access to licenses.

Licenses and Roles

We currently have 40 editor licenses for Figma and 40 editor licenses for FigJam but can have an unlimited number of viewers.

• An editor is any organization member or guest who has edit access to at least one team, project, or file.
• A viewer is any organization team member or guest who only has view access to at least one team, project, or file. Figma doesn't include viewers in the organization's billing, so we can add an unlimited number of viewers.

Organization Structure

The Medicaid and CHIP Business Information Solution (MACBIS) now has a Figma Organization plan, which is owned by Fearless. Within our Figma organization (named “Fearless”), each MACBIS product team has its own Figma team. We also have a team called MACBIS for the CMCS HCD Community of Practice and other shared resources for everyone in MACBIS.

Within their Figma teams, product teams can organize their files into any number projects (Figma’s name for folders).
