The Medicaid and CHIP Business Information Solution (MACBIS) is an enterprise-wide initiative to ensure the Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) data infrastructure and technology are commensurate to the programs’ role in evolving health care delivery reforms, access to coverage, and to enable proper monitoring and oversight.
MACBIS helps the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) with State Plan Amendment (SPA) and waiver processing, managed care contract review, quality reporting, and more. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will use MACBIS data for:
